Maria Montero is a paralegal at BomhardIP, where she handles all types of EUIPO proceedings with a focus on designs as well as international design.
She studied a double degree in Law and in Criminology at the University of Alicante and the Uniwersytet Warszawski and obtained an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation from the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs). She is currently studying for her Master’s Degree for admission to the Spanish bar at the University Camilo José Cela.
Before joining BomhardIP, Maria gained practical experience as an intern at the IP department of a law firm in Alicante where she focused on trademark and design prosecution. Following that, she joined the Alternative Dispute Resolution Service at the Boards of Appeal of the EUIPO for a one-year traineeship, and then spent a year as an intern at the headquarters of WIPO in Geneva dealing with the international registration of designs.
In addition to her native Spanish, Maria is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French and German, a language she continues to study.
In her spare time, she enjoys going to concerts, travelling, or playing the guitar.
